Dr. Giuliana Miguel-Pacheco is a veterinarian and an animal behaviour and welfare scientist with research expertise in animal-based welfare indicators, and the validation of precision livestock tools. As an independent consultant, Dr. Miguel-Pacheco has worked translating animal welfare science for international food companies and animal welfare NGOs supporting the development of policies and regulations. She has worked in the United Kingdom, Mexico and Canada and published in recognized academic journals in the areas of animal behaviour, precision livestock farming and welfare. She holds a MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD in Dairy Cattle Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Nottingham.
